Zodiac Compatibility       | AstrologyAnswers.com

Love Astrology and Love CompatibilityLOVE is the #1 reason people consultult astrologers — for answers in love, relationships, and compatibility. It’s human nature to want to believe that love is destined, that somewhere out in the grand scheme of things there’s ONE person, just for you. The truth of the matter is that the secret to romance is in the stars, and when approached the right way, astrology is a useful tool to get you some insight when it comes to love compatibility (and that all-important sexual chemistry too!)

Love and desire, why one person turns you on and another doesn’t, can be confusing enough. Especially when you’ve got the hots and the other person is just a cold shoulder; or maybe someone wants to woo and court you, and you’re just not interested. However, understanding the 12 signs of the zodiac can help when it comes to finding a good match. You’re looking for the right person to share your heart — and your bed — so there’s no such thing as too much information!
The Human Factor in Love Compatibility

The Human Factor in Love CompatibilityThe first thing to understand is that there’s no such thing as perfect compatibility. This has less to do with astrology and more to do with human nature. People come with baggage, history and hangups. Using astrology can help you to understand where that history might be hanging, so that you can see if this relationship has the potential to work.

Any relationship — even if you never learn to read an astrology chart — is going to function best when you understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses and when your willingness to be happy overtakes your need to be right. You can choose to be compatible with anyone, regardless of their zodiac sign. It all comes down to personal preference. So do you really need astrology for love and compatibility?
The Astrological Asset

The Astrological AssetAstrology can give you an advantage in love. Zodiac signs are broken down into 4 elements: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water.

The Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius
The Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn
The Air Signs: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius
The Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces

Why is this important? Well, what happens if you pour water onto fire? You get steam, and then the fire goes out. This can happen to a relationship if you pour a water sign onto fire, too! Add water to the earth and you nourish the soil, but if there’s too much water you get a mudslide. It’s the same between water signs and earth signs. Earth signs can smother fire; can scorch earth signs. Air signs can blow earth signs away into dust, or they can add fuel to fire signs so they burn brightly. When you understand how the elements work in nature, you can get a pretty good idea as to how the different astrological elements interact with each other.

The Hard Truth About the 4-Hour Work Week
Sylvia Rytarowska, Brazen Life  businessinsider

Think about it: four hours of work a week. Sounds great, doesn’t it? But it’s not for you. It’s not even for Tim Ferriss.
What makes you happy?

You’re ambitious, desire success and won’t settle for just any job when you could be doing something meaningful that would make you happy.

To quote Stephen King, who could easily kick back on the beach or drink fancy cocktails by the pool for the rest of his life:

I always wonder two things about these folks (writers with scanty legacies like Harper Lee — one book): how long did it take them to write the books they did write, and what did they do the rest of their time? Knit afghans? Organize church bazaars?… If God gives you something you can do, why in God’s name wouldn’t you do it?”

King writes every day, without exception, because it makes him happy. He’s a successful guy.

If you think about success in life and still have a problem nailing it down, listen to Richard St. John. In his “8 Secrets of Success” TED talk, he shares the elements of success he compiled after interviewing 500 successful people:

Passion. Though recently a buzzword, it’s also a major happiness factor.
    Work.
Expertise. Get good and own your skill.
Focus. Practice it like a muscle.
Push. Push yourself through self-doubt and inhibitions. Even great people think they’re not good enough.
Serve. Serve people something of value because it’s how you get rich.
Ideas. Follow through with your ideas; we all have them. Creativity isn’t magic.
Persist. Persistence, according to St. John, is the number one reason for success. Persist through failure and CRAP (criticism, rejection, assholes and pressure).

Does a four-hour workweek fit into that picture? Probably not. Take a close look at those who advocate the passive income lifestyle. They work their butts off and sell the idea for the big bucks.

Get rich quick” and “do nothing and accomplish everything” recipes are like the Holy Grail. They exist in legends and fairy tales. But the basis for your decision should be what the easy money advocates do, not what they say. Who walks the talk?
Q:
Does a four-hour workweek feasible?
How many hours should you work each week?
How to be happier at work?
What job would make you happiest?
How to find your passion?
“Even great people think they’re not good enough”
Do you think are you good enough? Reasons why?

Signs You’re a Shopaholic
Renee Morad  moneytalksnews

Researchers estimate that nearly 6 percent of Americans are so-called “shopaholics.” In our society, the phrase “shop till you drop” translates as frivolous and fun. But when spending presents a real problem, the glamour fades and debt mounts.

Psychologists call it compulsive buying disorder, and it is characterized as an impulse-control issue, just like gambling or binge eating. Compulsive buying disorder has the potential to create a whirlwind of emotional and financial distress.

1. You have many unopened or tagged items in your closet

We’re not talking about the sweater your aunt gave you last holiday season, but about items you selected on your own that sit unopened or with their tags still attached.

2. You often purchase things you don’t need or didn’t plan to buy

You’re easily tempted by items that you can do without: a fifth candle for your bedroom dresser, a new iPod case … you get the idea. You’re particularly vulnerable if you’ve admitted to having an obsession, such as shoes or designer handbags. Just because your splurges tend to stick to one category doesn’t make them any more rational.

3. An argument or frustration sparks an urge to shop

Compulsive shopping is an attempt to fill an emotional void, like loneliness, lack of control or lack of self-confidence. Shopaholics also have a tendency to suffer from mood disorders, eating disorders and substance abuse problems.

4. You experience a rush of excitement when buying

Shopaholics experience a high or an adrenaline rush from the act of purchasing an item. Experts say dopamine, a brain chemical associated with pleasure, is often released in waves as shoppers see a desirable item and consider buying it. This burst of excitement can become addictive.

5. Purchases are followed by feelings of remorse

This guilt doesn’t have to be limited to big purchases, either. Instead, compulsive shoppers are just as often attracted to deals and bargain hunting. Despite any remorse that follows, though, shopaholics are adept at rationalizing just about any purchase.

Police investigate acid attack at NTU  taipeitimes

Police investigate a crime scene yesterday morning outside a National Taiwan University dormitory in Taipei, where a man allegedly carried out an acid attack that left three people injured before killing himself.

The suspect, a 25-year-old National Taiwan University of Science and Technology graduate surnamed Chang (), apparently killed himself with a fruit knife.

Chang went to the dormitory in the early hours of yesterday morning to speak with a 23-year-old NTU Department of Psychology graduate student surnamed Hsieh (), Daan Police Precinct Deputy Chief Huang Kuo-chen (黃國珍) said.

Chang reportedly had a heated argument with Hsieh, who was with another NTU student, surnamed Luo (), in the dormitory’s guest meeting room, police said.

Chang allegedly threw an open vial of acid at Hsieh and Luo, police said, adding that the acid burned Chang and a security guard, surnamed Ku (), who was trying to calm the situation.

Witnesses said that Chang then took out a fruit knife and tried to stab Hsieh before chasing him outside.

Police quoted witnesses as saying that Hsieh fell to the ground and Chang, perhaps assuming that Hsieh was dead, stabbed himself several times before throwing acid on his neck in an apparent suicide attempt.

The attack appears premeditated, as Chang had a knife, glass vials containing sulfuric acid and a stun gun in his backpack, police said.

As of press time last night, Hsieh was in a critical condition.

He sustained serious cuts and acid burns on more than 60 percent of his body, doctors said.

Prosecutors yesterday investigated the crime scene and interviewed witnesses, two of the victims and their family and friends.

An autopsy was performed on Chang to determine if he had consumed alcohol or drugs prior to the attack.

According to media reports and discussion threads on Professional Technology Temple (PTT), the nation’s largest online academic bulletin board, Chang was romantically involved with Hsieh, with some citing as evidence that both men shared information in support of same-sex marriage on Facebook.

One of the men wanted to break up, but the other did not,” Ku told reporters.

[Hsieh] had told his mother about his sexual orientation. He did not dare to tell me and I did not want to ask,” Hsieh’s father, who visited his son in hospital, told reporters.

How to be happier according the world's happiest man
Alyson Shontell        businessinsider.com

Who is the happiest man in the world? If you Google it, the name "Matthieu Ricard" pops up.

Matthieu Ricard, 69, is a Tibetan Buddhist monk originally from France who has been called "the world's happiest man."

That's because he participated in a 12-year brain study on meditation and compassion led by a neuroscientist from the University of Wisconsin, Richard Davidson.

Davidson hooked up Ricard's head to 256 sensors and found that when Ricard was meditating on compassion his mind was unusually light.

Simple Capacity details the findings:

The scans showed that when meditating on compassion, Ricard’s brain produces a level of gamma waves – those linked to consciousness, attention, learning and memory – ‘never reported before in the neuroscience literature’, Davidson said. The scans also showed excessive activity in his brain’s left prefrontal cortex compared to its right counterpart, allowing him an abnormally large capacity for happiness and a reduced propensity towards negativity.

Ricard, who says he sometimes meditates for entire days without getting bored, admits he's a generally happy person (although he feels his "happiest man" title is a media-driven overstatement).

He spoke with Business Insider at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Here's his advice for how to be happy.
Stop thinking 'me, me, me'

To Ricard, the answer comes down to altruism. The reason is that, thinking about yourself and how to make things better for yourself all the time is exhausting and stressful, and it ultimately leads to unhappiness.

"It's not the moral ground," Ricard says. "It's simply that me, me, me all day long is very stuffy. And it's quite miserable, because you instrumentalize the whole world as a threat, or as a potential sort of interest [to yourself]."

If you want to be happy, Ricard says you should strive to be "benevolent," which will not only make you feel better but also make others like you more.

That's not to say you should let other people take advantage of you, Ricard warns, but you should generally strive to be kind within reason.

"If your mind is filled with benevolence, you know, the passion and solidarity ... this is a very healthy state of mind that is conducive to flourishing," Ricard says. "So you, yourself, are in a much better mental state. Your body will be healthier, so it has been shown. And also, people will perceive it as something nice."

That all sounds great in theory, but how does a person actually become altruistic and benevolent and not let selfish thoughts creep in?

Can high intelligence be a burden rather than a boon?  David Robson BBC

If ignorance is bliss, does a high IQ equal misery? Popular opinion would have it so. We tend to think of geniuses as being plagued by existential angst, frustration, and loneliness. Think of Virginia Woolf, Alan Turing, or Lisa Simpson – lone stars, isolated even as they burn their brightest. As Ernest Hemingway wrote: “Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know.”

The harsh truth is that greater intelligence does not equate to wiser decisions

The question may seem like a trivial matter concerning a select few – but the insights it offers could have ramifications for many. Much of our education system is aimed at improving academic intelligence; although its limits are well known, IQ is still the primary way of measuring cognitive abilities, and we spend millions on brain training and cognitive enhancers that try to improve those scores. But what if the quest for genius is itself a fool’s errand?

A weighty burden

One possibility is that knowledge of your talents becomes something of a ball and chain. Indeed, during the 1990s, the surviving Termites were asked to look back at the events in their 80-year lifespan. Rather than basking in their successes, many reported that they had been plagued by the sense that they had somehow failed to live up to their youthful expectations.

That sense of burden – particularly when combined with others’ expectations – is a recurring motif for many other gifted children. The most notable, and sad, case concerns the maths prodigy Sufiah Yusof. Enrolled at Oxford University aged 12, she dropped out of her course before taking her finals and started waitressing. She later worked as a call girl, entertaining clients with her ability to recite equations during sexual acts.

Sufiah Yusof, a child prodigy, enrolled at Oxford aged 12 but later dropped out and worked as a call girl

Another common complaint, often heard in student bars and internet forums, is that smarter people somehow have a clearer vision of the world’s failings. Whereas the rest of us are blinkered from existential angst, smarter people lay awake agonising over the human condition or other people’s folly.

Constant worrying may, in fact, be a sign of intelligence – but not in the way these armchair philosophers had imagined. Interviewing students on campus about various topics of discussion, Alexander Penney at MacEwan University in Canada found that those with the higher IQ did indeed feel more anxiety throughout the day. Interestingly, most worries were mundane, day-to-day concerns, though; the high-IQ students were far more likely to be replaying an awkward conversation, than asking the “big questions”. “It’s not that their worries were more profound, but they are just worrying more often about more things,” says Penney. “If something negative happened, they thought about it more.”

愛情克服一切?
Love doesn’t conquer all
 By Amanda Chatel

Love doesn’t conquer all. That’s the biggest myth about love – that love conquers all. I hate hearing that because it’s BS. Love gives you a reason to work hard on your relationship. If you sit on your ass and don’t do your part, love won’t save you. The relationship will fall apart. Don’t depend on love alone. That’s like sending your knight in shining armor to fight a battle in his boxers. He needs armor, a sword and probably a horse, too. See what I mean?

Love means compromise. You might have imagined the person you’d fall in love with would be just like you. They’d enjoy all the same things and you’d do all the same hobbies. Nice dream. Now welcome to reality. Love means compromise. If neither one of you are making any compromises, you’re either still in that disgustingly cute puppy love phase or you’re headed for a big fight. I’m not saying you have to make massive compromises every day. Love means you talk about things and don’t hold grudges when you compromise on which side of the bed to sleep on or doing his hobby one week and yours the next.

Love isn’t perfect. You’re not going to fall in love with the perfect person. Why? They don’t exist. Love is extremely flawed. There are going to be good days and bad days. There will be days when you think you couldn’t possibly tolerate your partner another day. Real love helps you get past the bad times. You look past a person’s flaws and even love some of those flaws. You’re not going to be super, lovey-dovey, romantic movie style happy 24/7. Love isn’t easy or perfect.

You can be yourself. The one thing I like most about love is you can be yourself. If you always feel as if you have to act differently around your significant other, it’s time to break it off. It’s not love. My guess is you love him, but he doesn’t love you. Loving someone means accepting them for who they are. That’s just what love is. You can never be happy with someone who makes you feel like you can’t be you. No matter how much you care about someone, don’t put yourself through that. It’s not worth it.

It has nothing to do with looks. Sure, that guy at the bar is really hot. He even has a six figure a year job. Could it be? He’s great in the sack, too! Good job, you just found the dream guy. It’s fun for a while, but the relationship is missing something. That’s right. It’s missing love. You might think you have a type and that’s all you can date. Erase the image of your perfect guy. I’m not saying to avoid the hot guys, I’m just saying to open you eyes a little more. When you’re miserable with the hot guy, he doesn’t look so great anymore. Opting for a 7 instead of 10 could lead to eternal bliss. When you’re in love, your partner always seems like a 10.

Are You Emotionally Intelligent?  Travis Bradberry

Decades of research now point to emotional intelligence as being the critical factor that sets star performers apart from the rest of the pack. The connection is so strong that 90% of top performers have high emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is the “something” in each of us that is a bit intangible. It affects how we manage behavior, navigate social complexities, and make personal decisions to achieve positive results.

You Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses

Emotionally intelligent people don’t just understand emotions; they know what they’re good at and what they’re terrible at. They also know who pushes their buttons and the environments (both situations and people) that enable them to succeed. Having a high EQ means you know your strengths and you know how to lean into them and use them to your full advantage while keeping your weaknesses from holding you back.

You Are Difficult to Offend

If you have a firm grasp of whom you are, it’s difficult for someone to say or do something that gets your goat. Emotionally intelligent people are self-confident and open-minded, which creates a pretty thick skin. You may even poke fun at yourself or let other people make jokes about you because you are able to mentally draw the line between humor and degradation.

You Let Go of Mistakes

Emotionally intelligent people distance themselves from their mistakes, but do so without forgetting them. By keeping their mistakes at a safe distance, yet still handy enough to refer to, they are able to adapt and adjust for future success. It takes refined self-awareness to walk this tightrope between dwelling and remembering. Dwelling too long on your mistakes makes you anxious and gun shy, while forgetting about them completely makes you bound to repeat them. The key to balance lies in your ability to transform failures into nuggets of improvement. This creates the tendency to get right back up every time you fall down.

You Don’t Seek Perfection

Emotionally intelligent people won’t set perfection as their target because they know that it doesn’t exist. Human beings, by our very nature, are fallible. When perfection is your goal, you’re always left with a nagging sense of failure that makes you want to give up or reduce your effort. You end up spending your time lamenting what you failed to accomplish and what you should have done differently instead of moving forward, excited about what you've achieved and what you will accomplish in the future.

Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder)   webmd.com

Dissociative identity disorder (previously known as multiple personality disorder) is thought to be a complex psychological condition that is likely caused by many factors, including severe trauma during early childhood (usually extreme, repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse).
What Is Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Most of us have experienced mild dissociation, which is like daydreaming or getting lost in the moment while working on a project. However, dissociative identity disorder is a severe form of dissociation, a mental process which produces a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. Dissociative identity disorder is thought to stem from a combination of factors that may include trauma experienced by the person with the disorder. The dissociative aspect is thought to be a coping mechanism -- the person literally dissociates himself from a situation or experience that's too violent, traumatic, or painful to assimilate with his conscious self.
Is Dissociative Identity Disorder Real?

You may wonder if dissociative identity disorder is real. After all, understanding the development of multiple personalities is difficult, even for highly trained experts. The diagnosis itself remains controversial among mental health professionals, with some experts believing that it is really an "offshoot" phenomenon of another psychiatric problem, such as borderline personality disorder, or the product of profound difficulties in coping abilities or stresses related to how people form trusting emotional relationships with others.

Other types of dissociative disorders defined in the DSM-5, the main psychiatry manual used to classify mental illnesses, include dissociative amnesia (with "dissociative fugue" now being regarded as a subtype of dissociative amnesia rather than its own diagnosis), and depersonalization/derealization disorder.
What Are the Symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct or split identities or personality states that continually have power over the person's behavior. With dissociative identity disorder, there's also an inability to recall key personal information that is too far-reaching to be explained as mere forgetfulness. With dissociative identity disorder, there are also highly distinct memory variations, which fluctuate with the person's split personality.

Bosom Friends
These days everyone has hundreds of internet friends, but nothing can replace a truly bosom friendship.
There are numerous ways to connect with people these days, but I believe the strongest bonds of friendship are forged through time and shared experiences. Fortunately, I have a couple of friends that have been there for me through thick and thin. Hopefully you do too and you cherish those bosom friendships “for as long as the sun and moon shall endure”.

Ways to find good friends      wikiHow

For many people, it's hard to find a good quality friend. Having good friends in your life isn’t just about fun; good, caring friends have a big impact on your overall well-being, by relieving stress, providing joy and happiness, and improving health. Making friends is all about being open and accepting while using your best judgement on the sort of people you want to be friends with.

Get out in social places. To meet new people and make good friends, you’ll need to be where people are interacting on a social level. The first step is to walk through the door and out into the world. When you get out to places where there's a good likelihood of meeting and interacting with people in a social context, you've already put yourself on the right track.

Find common ground. To find good friends, you should get involved with things that you like do, so that if you do meet someone, you'll have the same interests. When you connect with someone with similar tastes as you, be ready to use that connection to develop your friendship further.

If you’re into sports, join an intramural or amateur league for your sport of choice.
If you’re a veteran, hanging out at the local VFW is a great way to meet fellow service members.
If you live in a place with lots of outdoor possibilities, hiking the trails, skiing, swimming or engaging in other outdoor activities regularly can put you in contact with other outdoor enthusiasts (and help you stay in shape, too). Spending active time with a new friend, or even someone you've known for a while, will help take your relationship to a higher level.

Make friends through friends. Often the best way to meet new people is through mutual acquaintances. Meeting and spending time with the friends of people you already know gives you a leg up-and you’re more likely to get along with someone that your friends get along with. [4] It’s great to have all kinds of friends online, but I’m sure most people have very few bosom friends… I know I do. My closest friends I have known since childhood and I can’t imagine ever losing touch with them.

5 Foods That Will Put You In A Rotten Mood   prevention

1. Refined carbohydrates
In recent years, simple carbs have been vilified for their fat-promoting, nutrient-lacking qualities. Recently, researchers at Columbia University decided to see if having refined carbohydrates in your diet can make you depressed. Well, dust off the Paleo cookbook, because the answer is yes: Using data from the Women's Health Initiative—which is tracking more than 70,000 women—the researchers found that the higher a woman's blood sugar rose after eating sugar and refined grains, the higher her risk of depression.

2. Sugar
Considering the research on refined carbs, it's easy to see how sugar would also contribute to a higher risk of depression. Sure enough, multiple studies suggest a link. A diet high in sugar can raise levels of inflammation throughout the body and brain—and now research is tying inflammation to higher incidences of depression. One study published in JAMA Psychiatry found that brain inflammation was 30% higher in clinically depressed patients; another study published in the same journal found that patients with mild inflammation who took medication used to treat autoimmune or inflammatory diseases saw decreases in their depression symptoms.

3. Artificial sweeteners
So, sugar is bad. The fake stuff with fewer calories must be better, right? Not so much, says Edison, particularly if you already have depression. In one study, researchers at the University of Northwestern Ohio looked at the effect of aspartame (an artificial sweetener) on people with a history of depression and found that it significantly worsened symptoms. In fact, those symptoms got so bad that the study had to be stopped—some study participants actually developed suicidal thoughts.

4. Trans fats
We've all read the news that consuming olive oil can lower the risk of a number of health conditions, including heart disease and depression. What you may not realize, however, is that consuming artery-clogging trans fats can increase your risk of depression by as much as 48%, according to a study published in PLOS ONE.

5. Processed foods
It's no surprise that a food group that includes all of the bad guys listed above is one that'll put a damper on your mood. While studies of diet and depression often focus on specific foods, research published in the British Journal of Psychiatry looked at more than 3,000 people and found that those who ate the most processed food faced increased risk of depression, while those who ate the most whole foods had much lower odds.

Where you spend your time determines what kind of person you become.

Remember, it's not where you came from but how hard you try that decides what level you finally end up in.

If you spend your time in working out, you'll end up in good shape.

If you spend your time in learning, you'll end up with skills which help you survive.

If you spend your time in idling, you'll end up achieving nothing.

If you spend your time queuing, you'll end up having neither time nor money.

No one can decide how your life goes.

And no one can live your life for you.

If you find your life not perfect enough, the only thing you should complain about is that you didn't try hard enough.

Only the weak complain about others.

The strong focus on how to become stronger.

Complaining is the ugliest trash in this world.

Merits, on the other hand, is the fairest decoration one can wear.

The world doesn't despise slow maturation. It despises lifelong mediocrity .
