Reasons People Really Don't Like You (and How to Fix That)
inc.com  by Jeff Haden

1. You control.

Yeah, you're the boss. Yeah, you're the titan of industry. Yeah, you're the small tail that wags a huge dog.

Still, the only thing you really control is you. If you find yourself trying hard to control other people, you've decided that you, your goals, your dreams, or even just your opinions are more important than theirs.

Plus, control is short term at best, because it often requires force, or fear, or authority, or some form of pressure--none of those let you feel good about yourself.

Find people who want to go where you're going. They'll work harder, have more fun, and create better business and personal relationships.

2. You blame.

People make mistakes. Employees don't meet your expectations. Vendors don't deliver on time.

So you blame them for your problems.

But you're also to blame. Maybe you didn't provide enough training. Maybe you didn't build in enough of a buffer. Maybe you asked too much, too soon.

Taking responsibility when things go wrong instead of blaming others isn't masochistic; it's empowering, because then you focus on doing things better or smarter next time.

And when you get better or smarter, you also get happier.

3. You try to impress.

No one likes you for your clothes, your car, your possessions, your title, or your accomplishments. Those are all "things." People may like your things, but that doesn't mean they like you.

Sure, superficially they might seem to, but superficial is also insubstantial, and a relationship that is not based on substance is not a real relationship.

Genuine relationships make you happier, and you'll form genuine relationships only when you stop trying to impress and start trying to just be yourself.

4. You criticize.

Yeah, you're more educated. Yeah, you're more experienced. Yeah, you've been around more blocks and climbed more mountains and slayed more dragons.

That doesn't make you smarter, or better, or more insightful.

That just makes you you: unique, matchless, one of a kind--but in the end, just you.

Just like everyone else, including your employees.

Everyone is different: not better, not worse, just different. Appreciate the differences instead of the shortcomings and you'll see people--and yourself--in a better light.
Q:
Reasons people don't like you? (and how to fix that)
How to create better personal relationships?
How to criticize constructively?
Are you a "control freak?"
How to fix your mistakes?
How to be yourself?
How to appreciate the differences instead of the shortcomings from other people?

What is Buyer's Remorse?

    Written By: Brendan McGuigan

Buyer's remorse is the term given to the feeling a person often gets after making a large purchase. Although excited at the time of the purchase, once they've spent a lot of money, many people feel a deep regret and concern that they made the wrong decision.

Buyer's remorse takes many different forms, most of them typified by a high level of anxiety, usually about having made the wrong decision. Sometimes it strikes when a person makes a purchase they may not have actually had the money or credit for, and after buying it they begin to realize that they were living well outside of their means, and worry begins to grow over the consequences. This is especially true of purchases such as buying a new home, which is one of the most common triggers for buyer's remorse, due in no small part to the huge amounts of money usually involved.

This feeling may also focus on the worry that a purchase was made at the wrong time, and that by waiting a better deal could be had. This is especially common in the technology sector, and in automobiles, where new generations of products are released regularly. A person might make a purchase and then immediately begin wishing they had waited for the next generation to come out, as their product will soon be outdated. This type of buyer's remorse is largely unfounded, since the same case can be made at any point in time, as new generations are constantly being rolled out. It is especially prevalent when a new generation of a product is immediately released, however, leading the buyer to wish they had waited a week or two before committing to a purchase.

Buyer's remorse may also express itself as extreme guilt over the buying act itself. Especially with people who may have a problem with over-consumption, after making a purchase they may begin to feel regret for having once again succumbed to an addiction. This may also manifest as a concern for how others will view their purchases, especially if they may easily be viewed as frivolous or in bad judgment.

Psychologically, buyer's remorse makes perfect sense. A consumer switches from one state to another when making a purchase, where the state before they've made the purchase has enormous positive influence, and the purchase afterward loses a great deal of that. Before making a purchase, a buyer is faced with a great deal of choices, giving them a sense of agency and power in the world. They have money or credit to spend, and get to exert their dominance over the marketplace by placing their purchasing power.

After the purchase, however, all options have vanished. Buyer's remorse may set in as they see themselves locked into a single decision, which may or may not have been the best, and seek their purchasing power reduced. No longer acting from a position of control, many people react by seeking to distance themselves from the purchasing act, to reaffirm their sense of having had a wide field of choices. Buyer's remorse is, in this way, seen as a very simple state of cognitive dissonance, where the desire to retain complete control and infinite possibilities clashes with the reality of actually exerting that control by limiting those possibilities.

人生重要三件事?
The 3 Most Important Things In Life?
Hannah Sundell

Think about what the three most important things in your life are; the first thing that came to mind was probably happiness (you probably can’t really decide on the other two…yet). Happiness is such an easy answer to come up with, and it doesn’t require in-depth thinking about the question. The best way to answer such a thought provoking question is to break it down and really identify the three things in your life that will cause your happiness. Take a trip inside my mind and discover my three most important things in life.
1.Health

I consider health to be the most important thing in life because without your health, what are you really able to do? Envision this, you hit the lottery (I know, as if right? Just bear with me) and you land $90 million. Two weeks later you begin to feel extremely ill so you go to the doctor and they tell you that you have (you can make up something drastic here), and you will probably be partially paralyzed and on life support; material items, pizza, Game of Thrones, masturbating and other things you’ve always enjoyed no longer seem as important with your health gone.
2.Education

What would we really do without education? Maybe we would have no medicine for deadly diseases and we would be dying out from the Black Plague. Maybe there would be no IPhone 7 for you to pull out and ask Siri where the nearest coffee shop is. Without education, maybe Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton will be the two main presidential candidates one day…oops. Seriously though, education is the key to our future and evolution as a species. People overlook the value of education and take it for granted, you begin to realize how great education is when you go from “just talking”, to conversing with someone over an intellectual subject matter. I’ll leave you with one more example of why education is so essential: ever text someone who doesn’t know the difference between there, their, and they’re?
3.Gratitude

Most people who aren’t happy in their life, and who are always chasing something “better”, lack a sense of gratitude. Having gratitude in your life is very important, it doesn’t mean you should just settle for what you have and stop chasing what you want, but it does mean appreciating everything you’re fortunate enough to have in your life. You have to realize no matter how bad your day is going, there is someone in the world that would love to have your bad days. Moreover, we tend to overlook the small things in our first world life, such as a flushing toilet. We don’t realize how crucial flushing a toilet is until nature decides to turn off your power for a few days.

Ways to Turn Around a Bad Day in 10 Minutes Or Less
Sirena Bernal  tinybuddha

If a bad day’s got you down, try one of these ways to turn it around in 10 minutes or less:
1. Listen to a favorite song and sing along.

Studies have shown that listening to music you like can alter your mood and even alleviate depression.

In your iPod, make a “Feel Better” playlist that includes songs that work for you. Try to choose positive, uplifting songs that you can sing along to. “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz works for me every time.

2. Take a shower.

I’m not sure what it is about taking a shower, but I feel that it metaphorically helps “clean” the negativity. Taking a quick shower, especially one that alternates cold and hot water, can help increase circulation and rid negative energy.

Start with a warm shower and then slowly turn the temperature of the water as cold as you can stand for 20 seconds. Then bring the temperature back up again. Alternate this cycle for 3−5 minutes to start until you can slowly start to tolerate longer durations.

3. Watch a funny YouTube video.

In a study performed at the University of Western Ontario, participants who listened to an upbeat piece of music and watched a funny YouTube video were more productive and better able to solve problems than groups who listened to depressing music and video clips.

In theory, watching funny YouTube video can actually boost productivity. (Try telling that to your boss.)

Watch this video and tell me your day didn’t just get 10 times better.

4. Give and get a hug.

We often overlook human touch as a form of therapy. Health providers actually use therapeutic touch as a form of energy healing in hospitals and hospices to help patients recover from surgery.

The next time you’re feeling a little wonky, reach out to your partner, a close friend, or a family member and share a quick embrace.

5. Walk barefoot in the grass.

Being stuck inside all day without direct exposure from the sun, and without connecting to the energy of nature, can actually made a bad day even worse.

Grounding is the practice of exposing yourself to the ground, usually with your bare feet to help stimulate energy, improve immune function, and boost happiness.
The theory states that the earth’s magnetic field can lower stress hormones.

Why are Movie Tickets so Expensive?     wisegeek

Honestly, I think that there are many factors in why movie ticket prices are rising including piracy and online free streaming.

I think movie budgets are getting too high because celebrities with big names demand way too much money. Instead of getting paid $100 million, is $50 million not enough? $50 million per movie is much more than enough to live a rich, comfortable life.

I think tickets need to go down by half the price, so instead of paying $12 a ticket, you can pay $6 a ticket. I think concessions shouldn't be more than $5 for a large popcorn and $1.50 for a soda. I think the standard for paying actors should be much lower and online streaming should be monitored better. If all of these new actions take place, the movie industry would definitely be saved.

Drive-in theater  Wikipedia

A drive-in theater or drive-in cinema is a form of cinema structure consisting of a large outdoor movie screen, a projection booth, a concession stand and a large parking area for automobiles. Within this enclosed area, customers can view movies from the privacy and comfort of their cars. Some drive-ins have small playgrounds for children and a few picnic tables or benches.

The screen can be as simple as a wall that is painted white, or it can be a steel truss structure with a complex finish. Originally, the movie's sound was provided by speakers on the screen and later by individual speakers hung from the window of each car, which were attached by wire. These systems were superceded by the more economical and easier to maintain method of broadcasting the soundtrack at a low output power on AM or FM radio to be picked up by a car radio. This also allows the soundtrack to be picked up in stereo by the audience on an in-car stereo system which is typically higher quality and fidelity than the simple speakers used in the old systems.

Drunk Driving Consequences

Drunk driving is a serious crime that can affect otherwise law-abiding citizens anytime they get behind the wheel. It’s also a crime that can have deep-reaching financial consequences.

The Department of Transportation states that about four million adults reported having driven drunk at least once in 2016. Meanwhile, the FBI reports that drunk driving accounts for more than one million arrests or criminal charges each year, and is the third-most commonly charged crime in the United States after theft and drug-related offenses.

For those charged with or facing prosecution for a drunk driving offense, it’s essential to understand how being convicted of this crime can affect your finances. While drunk driving may seem like a minor criminal charge, it can have life-altering consequences – even if you’re not convicted.

Caning in Singapore      Wikipedia

Caning is a widely used form of legal corporal punishment in Singapore. It can be divided into several contexts: judicial, prison, reformatory, military, school, and domestic or private. These practices of caning are largely a legacy of, and are influenced by, British colonial rule in Singapore.Similar forms of corporal punishment are also used in some other former British colonies, including two of Singapore's neighbouring countries, Malaysia and Brunei.

Of these, judicial caning, for which Singapore is best known, is the most severe. It is reserved for male convicts under the age of 50, for a wide range of offences under the Criminal Procedure Code, and is also used as a disciplinary measure in prisons. Caning is also a legal form of punishment for delinquent servicemen in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and is conducted in the SAF Detention Barracks. Caning is also used as an official punishment in reform schools.

In a milder form, caning is used to punish male students in primary and secondary schools for serious misbehaviour. The government encourages this but does not allow caning for female students, who instead receive alternative forms of punishment such as detention.

A much smaller cane or other implement is also used by some parents to punish their children for misbehaving. This is allowed in Singapore but "not encouraged by the government". However, the government mentioned that it considers "the judicious application of corporal punishment in the best interest of the child."
