Calories Burnt (allwomenstalk.com)
Calories Burnt: 500 – 1000 cal/hr
Depending on how fast you go, this can be a real calorie burner. Riding outside is always enjoyable, but if you're a little more time restricted, invest in a good quality exercise bike. This is my favorite calorie burner, because it's so easy to do. How about riding while watching the TV? I find that cycling through Eastenders keeps me distracted, but working hard at the same time. In case you prefer to ride outside, make sure you take a look at this post called How to Not Get Hit by Cars When Bicycling. Just in case..
Calories Burnt: 800 cals/hr
Swimming is definitely a top exercise to lose weight, especially in the summer. Doing laps up and down the pool for an hour will burn off 800 calories, and also tone almost all of your body. Stay motivated by giving yourself half an hour extra to make use of the Jacuzzi when you've finished!
Calories Burnt: 360 cals/hr
The easiest exercise, brisk walking is a great cardio workout and will also help to tone your legs, stomach and hips. Sprinting, walking across hills or walking uphill will add to the amount of calories burnt, and walking tends to be very easy to fit into daily life. Just walking to the train station has made me so much fitter, and it really wakes me up going for a brisk walk in the morning. Check out Hate Running? Get Fit Walking! for the detailed walking workout!
Calories Burnt: 600/800 cal/hr
This targets your entire body, and is an excellent work out. In addition to being one of the top exercises to lose weight, it's also one of the most fun! I frequently put a music channel on and dance around. In addition to burning calories I find that it's a great stress reliever! Just make sure you stay active, and try and keep going for at least an hour! If you want to learn some new sexy moves while you are at it, you might want to check out Dancing DVDs reviewed in this post: Do Your Dance Moves Need A Makeover? You can also take a peek at 8 Kinds of Dance that Help You Lose Weight!
Calories burned per hour: 550 cal/hour
I love to run and jog, and it is so good for your body! Aside from all of the calories you will burn, you'll also get a lot of thinking done, without all the distractions of the gym or a workout DVD. Truly, I do some of my best decision-making and problem-solving while I'm on a run.
Calories burned per hour: 180 cal/hour
Stretching is good for your body and soul, and it's actually an effective exercise for losing weight! You'll notice an improvement in your tone and flexibility, plus a decrease in back pain, all while burning about 180 calories an hour... even more if you're doing more advanced moves and combining more difficult positions.

Ways to Bring Good Luck Into Your Life (By Sandra Grauschopf)
1. Positive Thinking Attracts Luck
If you are the type of person who believes that the glass is half full, not half empty, than you're already familiar with positive thinking. Studies have actually shown that being optimistic can relieve stress and help you live longer.

2. Affirmations Reinforce Lucky Thinking
If you watched the movie, Evan Almighty, you might have noticed that Evan's character starts every morning by looking in the mirror and saying, "I am smart, I am successful, I am happy." This is an affirmation.
Affirmations are ways of planting the seeds of success in our subconscious, helping us to think positively and to be more prepared for success. As W. Clement Stone said, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."

3. Feng Shui Lets Luck Flow
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art designed to bring balance, health, and even luck to the people who practice it. Some dismiss feng shui as superstition, but the principles of this art can help you to be more productive, more positive, and less distracted.
For example, one of the principles of feng shui is that clutter has a negative effect on your energy levels. And it's true - a messy, disorganized area makes it difficult to find what you need and to concentrate on your work.

4. Lucky Charms and Rituals
Many sweepers swear that they have increased their luck by wearing a favorite pair of socks or t-shirt as they enter sweepstakes, or by having lucky symbols like four-leafed clovers, ladybugs, or even Troll dolls near their computers while they enter. Still others perform some kind of lucky rituals before they start their daily sweepstakes. But this is superstitious nonsense, right?

5. Increase Your Karma, Get Luckier
Karma is one of the principle tenets of Hindu philosophy, but it can be simply summarized as, "What Goes Around, Comes Around." In other words, if you do good things, more good things happen to you and the luckier you'll be.
Questions:
1. Do you believe in luck?

How to attract good luck and good fortune?

2. Do you believe in karma? If so, have you truly experienced it?

3. Do you believe the conception that ”what goes around comes around”?

4. Do you believe that positive thinking brings good luck?

What are the benefits of positive thinking?

5. What is your lucky symbol?(ex: doves,turtrles)

What are the lucky symbols? List of lucky symbols?

6. What are some bad luck signs, some superstitions you know?

7. What are the symbols of bad luck?

8. What is lucky Omamori in Japan/Taiwan?

“Omamori  the Japanese good luck charm”

(Omamori (御守 or お守り omamori?) are Japanese amulets (charms, talismans) commonly sold at religious sites and dedicated to particular Shinto deities as well as Buddhist figures, and may serve to provide various forms of luck or protection.)

Anger Management (helpguide.org)

Why anger management is important

controlling your angerYou might think that venting your anger is healthy, that the people around you are too sensitive, that your anger is justified, or that you need to show your fury to get respect. But the truth is that anger is much more likely to damage your relationships, impair your judgment, get in the way of success, and have a negative impact on the way people see you.

◾ Out-of-control anger hurts your physical health. Constantly operating at high levels of stress and tension is bad for your health. Chronic anger makes you more susceptible to heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, a weakened immune system, insomnia, and high blood pressure.

◾ Out-of-control anger hurts your mental health. Chronic anger consumes huge amounts of mental energy and clouds your thinking, making it harder to concentrate, see the bigger picture, and enjoy life. It can also lead to stress, depression, and other mental health problems.

◾ Out-of-control anger hurts your career. Constructive criticism, creative differences, and heated debate can be healthy. But lashing out only alienates your colleagues, supervisors, or clients and erodes their respect. What’s more, a bad reputation can follow you wherever you go, making it harder and harder to get ahead.

◾ Out-of-control anger hurts your relationships with others. It causes lasting scars in the people you love most and gets in the way of your friendships and work relationships. Chronic, intense anger makes it hard for others to trust you, speak honestly, or feel comfortable—they never know what is going to set you off or what you will do. Explosive anger is especially damaging to children.

Anger management tip 1: Explore what’s really behind your anger

If you’re struggling with out-of-control anger, you may be wondering why your fuse is so short. Anger problems often stem from what you’ve learned as a child. If you watched others in your family scream, hit each other, or throw things, you might think this is how anger is supposed to be expressed. Traumatic events and high levels of stress can make you more susceptible to anger as well.

Anger is often a cover-up for other feelings

In order to get your needs met and express your anger in appropriate ways, you need to be in touch with what you are really feeling. Are you truly angry? Or is your anger masking other feelings such as embarrassment, insecurity, hurt, shame, or vulnerability?

If your knee-jerk response in many situations is anger, it is very likely that your temper is covering up your true feelings and needs. This is especially likely if you grew up in a family where expressing feelings was strongly discouraged. As an adult, you may have a hard time acknowledging feelings other than anger.

Clues that there’s something more to your anger

◾You have a hard time compromising. Is it hard for you to understand other people’s points of view, and even harder to concede a point? If you grew up in a family where anger was out of control, you may remember how the angry person got his or her way by being the loudest and most demanding. Compromising might bring up scary feelings of failure and vulnerability.

◾ You have trouble expressing emotions other than anger. Do you pride yourself on being tough and in control, never letting your guard down? Do you feel that emotions like fear, guilt, or shame don’t apply to you? Everyone has those emotions, and if you think you don’t, you may be using anger as a cover for them.

◾ You view different opinions and viewpoints as a personal challenge to you. Do you believe that your way is always right and get angry when others disagree? If you have a strong need to be in control or a fragile ego, you may interpret other perspectives as a challenge to your authority, rather than simply a different way of looking at things.

If you are uncomfortable with many emotions, disconnected, or stuck on an angry one-note response to everything, it might do you some good to get back in touch with your feelings. Emotional awareness is the key to self-understanding and success in life. Without the ability to recognize, manage, and deal with the full range of human emotions, you’ll inevitably spin into confusion, isolation, and self-doubt.

Girl killed by firework

Taipei, Feb. 4 (CNA) An eight-year-old girl in Taitung County, southeastern Taiwan, died Monday after being hit in the throat by a firework while playing with her siblings and neighborhood children. The girl died at Taitung Hospital after being rushed there suffering from massive bleeding when the rocket speared her throat, according to rescue personnel. The girl's death was attributed to suffocation by the paramedics, although there was no official report from the hospital. One of the teenagers involved in the accident said they inserted the rocket into a beer bottle in the middle of the road before igniting it. Unexpectedly, the rocket did not fly up but flew parallel to the road before hitting the girl, who was standing five to six meters away, the boy said. During a police investigation, the teenager said that he launched the rocket. The top-heavy rocket on a stick could easily fall while being launched from a bottle on the ground, police said. In related news, a fire broke out at an ironworks in Taichung, central Taiwan Tuesday, when the owner and workers of the factory burned ghost money in a traditional commencement ceremony after Lunar New Year's Day, which fell on Jan. 31 this year. The blaze spread to a neighboring factory, but no casualties were reported.
Q: What do you think about this firework accident?
