How to Think Positively

Minimize external influences that stimulate your negativity. You may find that certain kinds of music or violent video games or movies influence your overall attitude. Try minimizing your exposure to stressful or violent stimuli and spend more time listening to calming music or reading. Music benefits your mind really well and books on positive thinking can provide good tips for being a happier person.

Be physically positive. If you change your physical or bodily habits, your mind will follow suit. In order to feel happier in general, approach your physicality in a positive way. Practice good posture, standing up straight and keeping your shoulders down and back. A slump will make you feel more negative. Smile more often. Not only will others smile back at you, but the act of smiling may convince your body that it is happier.

Explore your creative side. If you haven't had a chance to explore your creative side, now's the time. Taking the time to be artistic and to work with your hands or explore your most original thoughts can do wonders for your power to think outside the box and to therefore think positively. Even if you don't think you're naturally inclined toward creativity, there are a number of ways you can express yourself to become more positive. •Take a class to learn about something you've never done before: consider pottery, painting, mixed-media collage, poetry, or wood working.

Surround yourself with positive people. We are often influenced by the people around us. If you find that people around you tend to be negative, look to surround yourself with more positive people. This will feed your own positivity. If you have a close family member or a significant other who is constantly negative, encourage her to go on a journey towards positivity with you. •Avoid people who sap your energy and motivation. If you can't avoid them, or don't want to, learn how not to let them get you down and keep your connection with them brief.

Don't forget to have fun. People who allow themselves regular fun in their lives tend to be happier and more positive because it isn't all drudgery and never-ending monotony. Fun breaks up the hard work and challenges. Remember that fun does not look the same for everyone, so you may need to spend time finding an activity that is fun for you. •Always make time for laughter. Hang out with friends who make you laugh, go to a comedy club, or watch a funny movie. It'll be hard to think negatively when your funny bone is being tickled.

 K-pop star arrives home    Taipeitimes/wikipedia

Taiwanese K-pop star Chou Tzu-yu (周子瑜) arrived at Kaohsiung International Airport from South Korea yesterday. Local media reported that she is to take a junior-high school scholastic aptitude test today. Born in Tainan, the 16-year-old is a member of South Korean girl group Twice, which debuted in October last year. She moved to South Korea in her second year of junior-high school to train with South Korean firm JYP Entertainment. Chou only has an elementary-school-level education, local media said, adding that by passing the test she would have the required academic credentials to continue her schooling in South Korea. In January, she became ensnared in controversy after China-based Taiwanese singer Huang An (黃安) accused her of supporting Taiwanese independence. Huang’s comments spurred Chinese netizens to attack Chou, resulting in her issuing an apology, saying “there is only one China... I have always felt proud of being Chinese.” The incident infuriated many Taiwanese, who accused JYP of forcing Chou to issue the apology.

Chou Tzu-yu was born in Tainan, Taiwan, on June 14, 1999. In 2012, she was seen by entertainment scouts at the MUSE Performing Arts Workshop in Tainan, and went to South Korea in November that year to train as a K-pop star. After more than two years of training, she appeared on the South Korean reality show Sixteen in 2015, during which she was chosen as one of the nine members of the new girl band Twice. The group made its debut in October 2015.

In November 2015, Tzuyu and her band mates appeared on the Korean variety show My Little Television. She introduced herself from Taiwan and held the flag of the Republic of China alongside that of South Korea. The flag of Japan was also shown, representing the nationality of some of the band's other members.

The Taiwanese-born China-based singer Huang An took to his Sina Weibo account and accused her of being a Taiwanese independence activist.[3] Just days before calling attention to Tzuyu, Huang had accused Hong Kong actor Wong He of making insulting comments about mainland China on Facebook with Wong's face subsequently being blurred out on China's state run China Central Television and Wong had issued an apology.[4] Mainland Chinese netizens reacted angrily towards Tzuyu's actions, "accusing her of profiting from her mainland Chinese audience while holding a pro-independence stance".[5] Soon after, Twice was barred from Chinese television and Tzuyu was pulled off from her endorsement with Chinese communications equipment vendor Huawei. JYP Entertainment suspended all her activities in China.
