睡眠不足的影響?
Surprising Effects of Lack of Sleep
webmd.com    By Camille Peri

1. Sleepiness Causes Accidents

Sleep deprivation was a factor in some of the biggest disasters in recent history: the 1979 nuclear accident at Three Mile Island, the massive Exxon Valdez oil spill, the 1986 nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl, and others.

But sleep loss is also a big public safety hazard every day on the road. Drowsiness can slow reaction time as much as driving drunk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that fatigue is a cause in 100,000 auto crashes and 1,550 crash-related deaths a year in the U.S.

2. Sleep Loss Dumbs You Down

Sleep plays a critical role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep hurts these cognitive processes in many ways. First, it impairs attention, alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. This makes it more difficult to learn efficiently.

3. Sleep Deprivation Can Lead to Serious Health Problems

Sleep disorders and chronic sleep loss can put you at risk for:

Heart disease /Heart attack /Heart failure/Irregular heartbeat/ High blood pressure/ Stroke/ Diabetes

4. Sleepiness Is Depressing

Over time, lack of sleep and sleep disorders can contribute to the symptoms of depression. In a 2005 Sleep in America poll, people who were diagnosed with depression or anxiety were more likely to sleep less than six hours at night.

The most common sleep disorder, insomnia, has the strongest link to depression. In a 2007 study of 10,000 people, those with insomnia were five times as likely to develop depression as those without. In fact, insomnia is often one of the first symptoms of depression.

5. Lack of Sleep May Increase Risk of Death

In the “Whitehall II Study,” British researchers looked at how sleep patterns affected the mortality of more than 10,000 British civil servants over two decades. The results, published in 2007, showed that those who had cut their sleep from seven to five hours or fewer a night nearly doubled their risk of death from all causes. In particular, lack of sleep doubled the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.

Most Important Lessons for life from Dangal Movie    quora.com

Movies are always much more than just entertainment. They motivates people, makes them to think, spread meaningful messages and of all the above, they are a medium between the story tellers and the general audience.
So here goes, some most important lessons for life from one of my favorite movie of the year, Dangal.

1.      Set your Goal and Focus on it

When Mahavir Singh Phogat couldn’t win a gold medal for his country in an International tournament, he made sure that he will achieve his dream through his son. But God had different plans for him. When he came to know for the fourth time, god gifted him a girl child, there was a situation where he gave up his dream. But he realized that whatever the child be, a girl or a boy, they are capable of doing the impossible if mentored properly. Follow your heart and your dreams will come true. He had set his goal even before his daughters were born and he never got diverted from his goal. I liked the dialogue in the movie, when he said to the coach that for him winning a gold medal is the ultimate aim than winning just a medal.
“When you have a dream you’ve got to grab it and never let go.” – Carol Burnett

2. There is no secret sauce to success

There is no secret sauce to success other than hard-work. Dangal teaches us the importance of hard-work in your life and how it helps in achieving our dreams. Everyday Mahavir Singh Phogat, orders his girls to start training as early as 5 in the morning. Even though the training regime is tiring, this helped them to focus on their goals.

Successful researcher Napoleon Hill in his book “Law of Success” has mentioned that “there is indeed a secret sauce to success”, based on his field research of some 500 folks, including Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, in the American entrepreneurial élite of the 1930’s. He has written that the quality of the service rendered, plus the quantity of service rendered, plus the mental attitude in which it is rendered, equals your compensation. The more you give, the more you get. You need to go an extra mile to find out the what is hidden and ultimately achieve your goal.

4. Set a strategy and plan
Even life is like a game. You need to have a proper strategy and plan that will guide you to success. In the movie, Mahavir Singh Phogat has a strategy and a plan against each opponents that his daughters fight. Before every match, he goes through the entire video and decode what has gone right and what has gone wrong. Based on the facts, he develops a plan for the next match.
Each game is different and you need to have different strategies & plans for each game.
