可樂廣告被轟「扮健康」
【明報專訊】全球最大飲品公司可口可樂周一破天荒在美國賣電視廣告,播出超長的2分鐘片段,變相暗示其汽水飲品有致肥風險,並給予顧客「健康貼士」,呼籲他們選擇可樂公司的低糖或無糖產品。廣告播出前已引發爭議,有衛生專家批評可樂公司混淆視聽,圖促銷近期冒起的低糖產品,改善公司形象。
「癡肥元兇」變健康鬥士
可樂公司名為「一起來」(Coming Together)的廣告片,周一起播出,旁白一開始就義正詞嚴說:「過去125年來,我們將大家凝聚一起。今天,我們希望大家凝聚起來,關注與大眾息息相關的癡肥問題。」廣告稱癡肥是「這一代的問題」,可樂公司「會致力與美國社會、商界及政府領袖共同努力,尋求對抗癡肥挑戰的有效方法」。
由輿論窮追猛打的癡肥元兇,變身「癡肥鬥士」的可樂公司,在廣告給予顧客「健康貼士」,指出「無論卡路里來自什麼飲食,只要從飲食中汲取多於身體消耗的卡路里,就同樣會致肥」,呼籲顧客控制飲品的糖分攝取量,多做運動,並選擇可樂公司的Coke Zero或Dasani Water等低糖或無糖產品。
廣告列舉可樂650款飲品當中,180款屬低糖或無糖,乘機促銷,並介紹旗下的細容量包裝飲品,似乎有意反擊紐約市早前限制戲院、餐廳等公眾場所,販售16盎司以上的含糖飲料。
默認汽水致肥風險
哈佛大學公共衛生學院批評,「所有飲食都會致肥」的宣傳,旨在淡化汽水是美國社會癡肥主因的主流觀念。經濟學家梅斯科(Tim Mescon)說,廣告可助可樂公司將公眾注意力,轉移到低卡路里產品。
公共利益科學中心(CSPI)負責人雅各布森(Mike Jacobson)說,面對各界對飲品業施壓,這些廣告似乎是要反守為攻,控制損失,「解除公眾對汽水的戒心」,並非認真看待癡肥問題。
但每年花費10億美元在全球作市場推廣的可樂公司,否認今次電視廣告攻勢,是回應輿論對汽水致肥的批評,澄清只是想引起公眾關注肥胖問題。

TRAVERSE CITY -- It's a fizzy pleasure sold in restaurants, stores and vending machines. And with slogans like "Pure as Sunlight" from 1927, to 1979's "Have a Coke and a Smile," or more recently, "Open Happiness," it isn't exactly known for it's healthy image. But now, with the National Institute of Health reporting two-thirds of American adults as overweight or obese, the world's largest beverage company is calling this problem "the issue of this generation" -- and getting involved.
For the first time, Coca-Cola is launching a series of ads focusing on its past of providing drinks with fewer, or "zero" calories, and more "diet" options. But many health professionals say despite its fewer calories, it's still soda.
"What happens when your insulin spikes, is it's going to drop... and your body is going to be hungry." said Certified Personal Trainer at the Grand Traverse Athletic Club. "So people that drink Coke (regular or diet) eat more than they normally would."
Coca-Cola says it is simply addressing the obesity issue, not reacting to any public opinions. Even though some of those public opinions are loud and clear.
"I think pop is bad," said Valerie Hays-Schaub, a Traverse City resident. "There's nothing good about it. It's a guilty pleasure and I do drink pop once in awhile."
"There's nothing really good in it," said Cheryl Send, a mother from Suttons Bay. "There's no juice in it, no vitamins in it. It really doesn't hydrate you like water can."
Coca-cola has made attempts to combat opinions like these by placing the number of calories on the side of each can, but Personal Trainer Ryan Heary says that's not enough... Especially when it comes to kids.
"Kids from 9 to 12 drink 3-4 sodas a day (on average), so that amounts to about 15 teaspoons of sugar a day," said Heary. "That's way above the norm, and It's going to effect them. They could be obese, they could get diabetes, they could have bad teeth."
Despite efforts to sell more water and juice products, Coca-Cola reports diet sodas account for nearly a third of its U.S. Sales... So, are these ads misleading?
"They're misleading for a reason: because they want to try and target the people that are on a ‘diet,’" said Heary. "Just because it's diet, doesn't mean it's for a diet."
吃薑的好處多多

面對現代各種與自由基氧化傷害有關的慢性疾病,薑具有抵抗調和的效用!
薑與日常生活息息相關,日前因米酒調漲而名氣大噪的薑母鴨、客家名菜薑絲大腸、小吃攤上搭配白切小菜或沾醬的薑絲等,酒吧裡調製的薑汁汽水,節慶用的薑餅屋……薑是各色食物調理愛用的香辛調味料。
由於薑的功用是提供風味,平日的攝取量並不高,根據國民營養調查資料來看,薑的用量排名在一百名之外,表示一般人很少注意到菜餚裡的薑,也許進食的時候就已經剔除在外了。就營養價值來看,薑與一般蔬菜一樣,熱量很低,含有豐富的鉀,少量的水溶性維生素,但是因為進食量不多,可能對營養素的貢獻有限。
抗氧化 名列前茅
薑的好處不在於提供營養素,而在於它具有多樣的保健功效。最近美國與挪威學者合作,很有系統地評估各種植物性食材的抗氧化效力。在十一種根莖類食材中,生薑的抗氧化效力排名第一,是馬鈴薯或甘藷的十倍以上。不僅如此,生薑的抗氧化效力比多數的蔬菜、水果都高,常見的深紅或深綠色蔬菜,柑橘、檸檬、葡萄等高維生素C水果,抗氧化效力都比生薑略遜一籌,只有石榴與漿果類水果超過生薑的效力。抗氧化成分有助於消除血脂的氧化傷害,此外,澳洲學者的研究指出,薑所含的薑醇類成分,可以抑制血小板的凝集,這些作用都是對抗心血管疾病的利器。
抗發炎 無副作用
薑醇類成分還具有抗發炎的效應。骨關節炎也稱為退化性關節炎,是人體骨頭關節經歷長年使用與磨損,軟骨產生退化的結果,可以說是老化的自然現象,主要發生在老年人和少數中年人。容易磨損的關節都是承載重量的部位,例如脊椎、臀骨、膝蓋等。除了老化因素之外,運動傷害、長時間連續過度使用關節、先天性關節結構異常、關節炎病史等,也可能造成骨關節炎。骨關節炎會使關節劇烈疼痛,造成行動不便,喪失敏捷俐落。而且骨關節炎會落入惡性循環,患者會避免使用疼痛的關節,關節的運動越少血液循環越差,營養供應不足就更退化。
美國的臨床研究指出,薑萃取物可以減輕關節疼痛,甚至減少止痛藥的服用。研究使用的劑量,生薑是每天3公克,服用三個月到兩年。由於薑的味道強烈刺激,有時會引發腸胃的不適,不過並不會造成傷害。科學家觀察到,服用非固醇類消炎藥者,某些癌症的罹患率較低,因此注意到發炎與癌症可能有相關的機制,動物實驗可見薑醇類具有抑制腫瘤轉移的效應。薑的有效成分比抗發炎藥物複雜,但是沒有藥物的副作用。
抗嘔 孕婦福音
另外,薑自古以來就有止嘔的功用。近年歐美數個嚴謹的臨床研究證實,薑對減少孕婦害喜的症狀和次數有幫助,也可以緩和暈船嘔吐,以及化療引發的噁心嘔吐。這些研究中用的薑是磨粉製成膠囊,孕婦的用量是250 mg膠囊每天4錠,服用四天就可見效。根據婦產科的經驗,約有百分之一的孕婦因為嚴重害喜而必須住院,約三分之一的孕婦會因害喜而使日常生活失序。雖然有一些藥物可以緩和害喜症狀,但是孕婦通常顧慮胎兒的健康,並不尋求藥物治療。薑的使用經驗歷史悠久,多數典籍的記載都沒有毒性,對孕婦也無妨礙,因此,對受害喜之苦的女性或者是一種溫和有效的抗嘔食品。
《本草綱目》記載:「薑辛而不葷,去邪避惡,生啖、熟食、醋、醬、糟、鹽和蜜煎調和,無不宜之,可蔬可和,可果可藥,其利博矣。」換句話說,薑的好處多多,特別是面對現代各種與自由基氧化傷害有關的慢性疾病,都有抵抗調和的效用,應該多加利用
