Mother wakes up after a car crash to find she has EIGHT personalities  MailOnline

'I now share my body with seven other people': Mother wakes up after a car crash to find she has EIGHT personalities - including a 'go getter' who posts raunchy pictures online and a businessman who went to Harvard

It was a plot twist Marcela Del Sol, an accomplished writer, never saw coming – she would wake up in hospital following a car accident and have to share her body with seven other 'people' with their own very distinct personalities.
The 43-year-old  mother-of-two was driving her car along a highway in Charlestown near Newcastle, two hours north of Sydney, in mid July, 2013, when it broke down - she moved to the side of the road and another car crashed into the back of her.
Both cars were written off, she suffered major whiplash and her dissociative personality disorder (also known as multiple personality disorder) was triggered - giving life to C, L, T, M, M/B and twins A and B.

Multiple Personality Disorder

Dissociative identity disorder (previously known as multiple personality disorder) is thought to be a complex psychological condition that is likely caused by many factors, including severe trauma during early childhood (usually extreme, repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse).

Olympics in bright red spots: What is cupping?

By Madison Park, CNN

(CNN)Those dark red spots dotting Olympians' shoulders and backs are not cigar burns. They're not perfectly circular hickeys either.
Viewers watching the Olympics this weekend may have spotted the pepperoni-like bruises on athletes and wondered: What is that?

Olympians at Rio have taken to cupping -- an ancient therapy that have mostly been used in Middle Eastern and Asian countries, especially China.
The therapy consists of having round glass suction cups that are warmed, then placed on sore parts of the body. The placement of the glass cup creates a partial vacuum, which is believed to stimulate muscles and blood flow, while relieving pain.
Michael Phelps, US gymnast Alex Naddour and Belarus swimmer Pavel Sankovich have all posted pictures of their polka dotted limbs and backs.
Sankovich wrote earlier this summer on his Instagram account: "Cupping is a great recovery tool," with a photo of his thighs covered in suction cups. Former Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin has also previously posted pictures of herself going through a cupping therapy.
Phelps showed snippets of his cupping therapy on his Instagram as well as his Under Armour commercial.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which involves sticking solid, hair fine needles into the body at specific points. The procedure is designed to release blocked energy and address imbalances in the body which may cause ill health, and it has been used in China for thousands of years. In the West, acupuncture is a relatively recent introduction to the medical library, but its popularity has quickly grown.

The theory behind acupuncture is that everybody is filled with a life force, called qi, or chi. When the masculine and feminine aspects of the body, known as yin and yang, are in balance, the qi is in balance, and will flow smoothly through the body along meridians of power.
