Phone sex scams on the rise taipeitimes
A fraud ring was broken up by police in Kaohsiung, who say that more than 100 men fell prey to the scam, some of which paid out more than NT$1m
More than 100 Taiwanese men have recently fallen victim to scams in which they give money to women who seduce them over the phone, police said.
The cases came to light after Kaohisung police and the Criminal Investigation Bureau last week arrested nine alleged members of a phone fraud ring, allegedly operated by a criminal syndicate headed by a man surnamed Liu (劉).
The syndicate was based in China, but has couriers to pick up money and female go-betweens in Taiwan, police said.
In many of the cases, victims believed a tragic story told to them by a woman on the phone, such as that they were destitute or had to pay big medical bills for sick family members, police said.
Once the victim has fallen for the story, they do what they can to help out their “newfound love,” including putting their houses up for collateral or taking out bank loans, the police added. However, the men end up with nothing but an empty bank account and, for many, a broken heart.
“Taiwanese men are easy prey for these phone sex scams,” a policeman said, shaking his head.
According to police reports, more than 100 people were taken advantage of in the phone sex scam, of which most were men over the age of 50, divorced, widowed, or who had little experience with relationships.
The police said the increasing number of men falling for such scams are desperately looking for love and are easily exploited by a charming woman who calls them several times a day and showers them with affection. Victims think they have found their “dream girl,” and many were willing to do everything for the object of their desire, police said.

An Interesting Funeral
One day all the employees of a very unusual
company reached their office and all saw a big sign on the main door which said
this . . .
'Yesterday, the person who has been
hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the
funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym.'
In the beginning, they all got sad for the
death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting
curious to know who was that person who hindered the growth of their colleagues
and the company itself?
The excitement in the gym was such that
security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more
people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.
Everyone thought - 'Who is this person who
was hindering my progress?'
One by one the intrigued employees got
closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it, they suddenly became
speechless.
They all got to stand near the coffin, and
all ended up shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part
of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside
it could see themselves! There was also a sign next to the mirror that said. .

昨天那位妨礙你成長的人去世了
在美國密蘇里州聖路易市一家大公司的職員吃完午餐，回到公司門口，看到一個牌子，上面寫著：「昨天那位妨礙你在公司成長的人去世了。公司並在運動中心為他設置靈堂供同仁弔祭。」
一時間，每位員工都對這位逝去的同仁感到難過，但過了一會兒，他們開始好奇這位仁兄到底是誰？
於是，他們帶著一種好奇的心情走到運動中心向死者致哀。
每個人都在心裡嘀咕著：「這個人到底是誰呀？」「他怎麼會妨礙到我們的成長呢？」「算了！不想了！反正他已經不在了。」
然後，每位員工慢慢靠近棺材時，當他們看到棺材後，每個人忽然間都無言....
棺材中有一面鏡子，探頭進去看的人必定會看到自己，而且鏡子旁邊還有一個牌子，上面是這麼寫的：「世界上只有一個人可以限制你的成長，那就是你自己。」
只有你才可以改革你的人生，也只有你自己才能帶給你幸福快樂，對人生的認知及成功，只有你自己才能幫助你。
你的人生不會因為你換個老板，換了朋友，換了父母，換了公司而有任何改變。

或許有些人會覺得，每個人都嘛期許自己變的更好，自己怎麼可能成為妨礙自己成長的人呢？
其實這裡指的自己是指人的劣根性，這些劣根性有可能是「負面的想法、缺點、懶惰、散慢、自卑、傲慢…等其中一種」，在佛家來說就是「貪、嗔、痴、慢、疑」…等，人性負面的性格。
人因為心不夠堅定，容易受到誘惑，碰到問題會想逃避，遇到責任就想推卸，看到別人有所成就自卑甚至產生妒嫉，因心中存有太多的這些負面個性，致使人停滯不前。
